Sandra Harris is an experienced botanical artist specializing in painting large, realistic portraits of flowers and other natural subjects.  While she is professionally trained in botanical artwork and strives to maintain the accuracy necessary for that specialization, she adds a unique touch of contemporary realism and drama to her paintings.

Sandra has studied extensively at the New York Botanical Garden with many well-known artists including Rose Marie James and Kathie Miranda. She also spent several years studying with Hazel Jarvis, a noted British watercolor artist, focusing on the finer points of composition, acute attention to form and the nuances of color mixing.

Sandra received her Certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration from the New York Botanical Garden in June, 2015 after completing a rigorous course of study including hundreds of hours drawing specimens from life, in depth study of plant morphology, and mastering techniques in watercolor and other media.
